Northwest Africa 13869 (NWA 13869) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2021 Mar Classification: Ureilite History: The meteorite was purchased from a dealer in Morocco. Physical characteristics: Dark brownish rock without fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite shows a cumulate texture of olivine and pigeonite grains up to 2 mm in sizes. Olivine displays characteristic reduced rims in contact with FeNi-metal or graphite. The meteorite contains flaky graphite and calcite-filled cracks. Geochemistry: reduced rims in olivine: Fa2.9-4.6; olivine contains 0.57±0.03 wt% Cr2O3 and 0.31±0.01 wt% CaO; pigeonite contains 1.39±0.06 wt% Cr2O3 and 1.72±0.08 wt% Al2O3 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
