Northwest Africa 13914 (NWA 13914) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2018 Classification: Ureilite History: Purchased by Ziyao Wang in 2018 from a dealer in Agadir, Morocco. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Highly recrystallized aggregate of finely polygranular olivine (with Mg-rich reduced rims), pigeonite and orthopyroxene with accessory graphite, troilite and kamacite. Original Fe metal along grain boundaries and throughout recrystallized olivine grains has been extensively altered to secondary Fe oxyhydroxides (such that the studied thin section is almost completely opaque). Geochemistry: Olivine (cores Fa21.8-24.4, N = 4; rims Fa4.3-6.0, N = 4), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs12.7-15.0Wo2.3-2.7, N = 3), pigeonite (Fs11.3-17.4Wo8.0-8.6, N = 3). Classification: Ureilite (shock-recrystallized). Specimens: 20.1 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with WangZ. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
