Chug Chug 096 22°28.80’S, 69°7.75’W Antofagasta, Chile Find: 19 Oct 2019 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3) Petrography: The meteorite has a brecciated texture with angular chondrite fragments of 0.5-3 cm in size. Olivine shows strong mosaicism and planar deformation features. Metal-troilite assemblages and silicate melt pockets are present. The breccia matrix is composed of chondrules and chondrule fragments, mineral grains and fine-grained clastic material. Olivine in the breccia matrix shows weak mosaicism. Some areas of the breccia have melt rock matrix. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa PMD = 11.9% (n=43). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
