Purchased: 2021 Jan

Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite)

History: The meteorite was purchased from a meteorite dealer in Nouadhibou, Mauritania in January, 2021.

Physical characteristics: Two grayish fragments largely covered with fusion crust.

Petrography: Breccia composed of up to 1 mm sized mineral fragments and basaltic and black impact melt clasts up to 7 mm in size in fine-grained clastic matrix. Mineral phases are predominantly compositionally zoned low-Ca pyroxene, exsolved pyroxene, and calcic plagioclase grains. Minor phases include silica, chromite, ilmenite, troilite, and metallic iron.

Geochemistry: zoned low-Ca pyroxene: Fs_35.5±9.4Wo_3.3±0.7(Fs_23.1-45.2Wo_2.4-5.3, FeO/MnO=26-33, n=15); low-Ca pyroxene host to augite exsolution lamellae: Fs_48.3±1.2Wo_3.1±1.3(Fs_46.9-50.3Wo_1.8-5.8, FeO/MnO=25-29, n=19); Ca-pyroxene exsolution lamellae: Fs_19.8±0.8Wo_43.2±0.8(Fs_18.7-21.9Wo_40.6-43.9, FeO/MnO=21-24, n=13); calcic plagioclase: An_88.9±4.4(An_83.4-95.1, n=13)
