Ramlat Fasad 591 19°21.884’N, 53°57.971’E Zufar, Oman Find: 05 Feb 2019 Classification: Relict meteorite (Relict iron) History: Found during a search for meteorites. Physical characteristics: Single fragment of black angular oxide. Strongly magnetic. Petrography: Lamellar mixture of iron oxides and -hydroxides. Geochemistry: Bulk analysis (XRF) Fe = 57.2±4.7, Ni = 1.83±0.91, Co = 0.42±0.20 (all wt%, N = 3). Classification: Relict iron meteorite. Element concentrations affected by terrestrial weathering. Specimens: 1.12 g at NMBE. Main mass: MHTO. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
