Northwest Africa 14029 (NWA 14029)

(Northwest Africa)

Purchased: 2020

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L5)

History: The meteorite was purchased from a group of meteorites hunters in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, in late 2020.

Physical characteristics: Brownish rock with patches of thick fusion crust.

Petrography: The plagioclase grain size is about 30 µm. The meteorite is brecciated and contains black shock melt veins.
