Sentinel Plain (b) 32°50’5.94"N, 113°0’54.84"W Arizona, United States Find: 25 Nov 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: A 300 g meteorite was found by Mr. Robert Szczuczko on 25 November 2018, while he was searching for meteorites in southwestern Arizona Physical characteristics: Single 300 g blocky stone with shallow regmaglypts completely covered in a matte black/brown fusion crust. The interior displays numerous light-brown chondrules separated by a dark-brown colored matrix and scattered metal grains. Petrography: (L. Garvie, ASU, R. Szczuczko) A 5 × 4 cm polished slab shows well-defined chondrules and small dispersed metal grains in a recrystallized matrix. Thin section shows an abundance of chondrules (PO, PP, BO, RP, CC) to 2.2 mm (POP), though most with a mean near 0.5 mm. Interchondrule feldspar typically to 10 µm, though rarely to 50 µm. Metal and troilite typically <700 µm across, though a few grains to 3 mm. Under crossed polars, the troilite is single crystal and lacks shock features.
