Northwest Africa 14080 (NWA 14080) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Dec Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L5) History: Purchased by Jason Whitcomb in December 2019 from a Moroccan dealer. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Sparse chondrules occur within a recrystallized assemblage containing stained metal, chromite, troilite and chlorapatite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa25.2±0.4, range Fa24.6-25.7, N = 6), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs21.9±1.7Wo1.6±0.1, range Fs20.7-24.2Wo1.4-1.7, N = 4) Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L5). Specimens: 52.5 g including one polished thin section at PSF; remainder with Mr. J. Whitcomb. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
