Writeup from MB 110:

Northwest Africa 14163 (NWA 14163)

Morocco

Find: 2019

Classification: Enstatite chondrite (EL melt rock)

Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Highly recrystallized chondrite with grain size about 400 µm. Only relict chondrules are present. Enstatite is the dominant mineral, with subodinate sodic plagioclase. Accessory phases: troilite, daubreelite, schreibersite. Weathered metal is abundant. No pristine metal was found in the studied section.

Geochemistry: Enstatite Fs0.5±0.3Wo1.5±0.1, CaO 0.84±0.06 (n=5). Plagioclase An15.0±0.2Ab80.9±0.1Or4.2±0.2 (n=4). All metal is weathered and cannot be analyzed.

Classification: EL-melt rock, incompletely melted. Similar to and probably paired with Al Haggounia 001.

Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Daniel da Costa.
