Northwest Africa 14206 (NWA 14206) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: Purchased by Geologist Juan Avilés Poblador in 2018 from Brahim Tahiri in Morocco. Physical characteristics: Single stone with dark-brown fusion crust. Petrography: (D. Sheikh, Cascadia) This sample is an ordinary chondrite containing chondrules (Av. 450±50 μm) and accessory Fe-Ni metal, troilite, and chromite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa19.6±1.5, range Fa18.4-25.6, n=29), Low-Ca Pyroxene (Fs17.8±2.1Wo1.2±0.3, range Fs16.2-24.7Wo0.8-1.9, n=21). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4). Specimens: 24 g and a thin section at Cascadia; main mass with Juan Avilés Poblador. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
