Chug Chug 111        22°29.383’S, 69°09.774’W

Antofagasta, Chile

Find: 27 Oct 2019

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H5)

History: The meteorite was found in autumn 2019 by Atali Agakhanov during a meteorite searching expedition organized by Timur Kryachko.

Physical characteristics: Total mass is about 340 g. The exterior is dark brown whereas the interior of meteorite is rusty brown with visible metal.

Petrography: (Kseniya A. Konovalova, FMMR). Petrographic observation of a polished section shows that meteorite consist of visible chondrules in a middle-grain matrix. Chondrules have average size 300-500 µm. Plagioclase grains up to 40 µm (petrological type 5). Metal and troilite are a little oxidized (weathearing grade W1). Olivine have no undulatory extinction, indicating a shock stage of S1.

Geochemistry: Mineral composition and Geochemistry: EDS analyses (Atali Agakhanov, Ksenia Konovalova, FMMR). The primary chondrite paragenesis includes olivine 20.06±0.88 (N=24), Low-Ca pyroxene Fs18.1±0.4Wo1.43±0.56 (N=17), high-Ca pyroxene Fs13.8±2.6Wo45.54±2.26 (N=8), plagioclase Ab80.4An14.7Or4.1 (N=5). Composition of kamacite (in wt. %, n = 3): Fe - 91.99, Ni - 6.68, Co - 0.75

Classification: (Kseniya A. Konovalova, FMMR). Ordinary chondrite. H5, S1, W1.

Specimens: Atali Agakhanov holds main mass. 20.83 g and thin section - FMMR
