Chug Chug 112        22°28.800’S, 69°11.154’W

Antofagasta, Chile

Find: 28 Oct 2019

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H6)

History: The meteorite (1 piece) was found in autumn 2019 by Atali Agakhanov during a meteorite searching expedition organized by Timur Kryachko.

Physical characteristics: Total mass of 15 pieces are about 1000 g. The exterior is from grey-brown to brown.

Petrography: (Kseniya A. Konovalova, FMMR). Petrographic observation of a polished section shows that meteorite consist of visible chondrules in a middle-grain matrix. Chondrules have average size 300-500 µm. Plagioclase grains are more than 50 µm (petrological type 6). Metal and troilite are a little oxidixed (weathearing grade W1). Olivine have no undulatory extinction, indicating a shock stage of S1.

Geochemistry: Mineral composition and Geochemistry: EDS analyses (Atali Agakhanov, Ksenia Konovalova, FMMR). The primary chondrite paragenesis includes olivine 20.25±0.47 (N=22), Low-Ca pyroxene Fs18.1±0.3Wo1.28±0.24 (N=25), high-Ca pyroxene Fs11.9±1.4Wo46.32±0.53 (N=6), plagioclase Ab74.2An15.2Or6.3 (N=6). Composition of kamacite (in wt. %, n = 4): Fe - 93.21, Ni - 6.59, Co - 0.94

Classification: (Kseniya A. Konovalova, FMMR). Ordinary chondrite. H6, S1, W1.

Specimens: Atali Agakhanov holds main mass. 21.56 g and thin section - FMMR
