Northwest Africa 14208 (NWA 14208) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2018 Classification: Pallasite History: Purchased by Geologist Juan Avilés Poblador in 2018 from a meteorite dealer in Algeria. Physical characteristics: Single stone with minor fusion crust. Petrography: (D. Sheikh, Cascadia) This sample contains subequal amounts of fractured, angular to sub-rounded grains of olivine (up to 8 mm), and weathered Fe-Ni metal. Accessory phases include troilite and Fe-oxides. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa11.8±0.2, range Fa11.3-12.3, n=34). Classification: Pallasite. Specimens: 18.3 g and a thin section at Cascadia; main mass with Juan Avilés Poblador. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
