Northwest Africa 14373 (NWA 14373) Morocco Purchased: 2021 Feb Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: Purchased by Said Baya in February 2021 from a dealer in Laayoune, Morocco. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Well-formed, relatively small equilibrated chondrules (some containing sodic plagioclase) are set in a recrystallized matrix containng altered kamacite and troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa19.9±0.4, range Fa19.5-20.5, N = 5), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs17.3±0.3Wo1.3±0.2, range Fs17.1-17.6Wo1.1-1.5, N = 4), augite (Fs6.3Wo46.0). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4). Specimens: 27.1 g including a polished mount at UWB; remainder with Mr. S. Baya. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
