Northwest Africa 14395 (NWA 14395) Morocco Purchased: Aug 2019 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: Purchased by Sean Tutorow from a dealer in August 2019 in Morocco. Physical characteristics: The type specimen has a rugged surface with patined surface in some areas. The interior has a light brown color. Rare, but discernible and up to 1 mm-sized chondrules are observed, and metal is preserved. Petrography: (A. Bouvier, UBayr) In section, well-defined chondrules and matrix show limited evidence of recrystalisation, and moderate oxidation of metal is observed. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa17.5±0.3, low-Ca pyroxene Fs15.7±0.5Wo1.1±0.9, and Feldspar Ab74.2±3.9Or8.0±2.0 Specimens: 68.2 g including a thin section and polished mount at UBayr. S. Tutorow holds the main mass. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
