Northwest Africa 14398 (NWA 14398) Morocco Purchased: Aug 2019 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: Purchased by Sean Tutorow from a dealer in August 2019 in Morocco. Petrography: (A. Bouvier, UBayr) Well packed and preserved chondrules, some larger barred olivine and porphyritic olivine chondrules are observed. Matrix is oxidized and limited metal remains in polished section. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa18.2±0.1; n=10), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs15.9±0.3Wo1.6±0.2; n=10), high-Ca pyroxene(Fs6.5±0.4Wo43.4±1.6, n=3), and feldspar An9.5±2.6Or6.1±0.9 (n=3). Classification: H4 Specimens: 45.2 g including a thin section and polished mount at UBayr. S. Tutorow holds the main mass. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
