Antofagasta, Chile

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H6)

History: The meteorite (1 piece) was found in autumn 2019 by Atali Agakhanov during a meteorite searching expedition organized by Timur Kryachko.

Physical characteristics:  Total mass is about 99 g. The interior and surface are brown to dark brown.

Petrography: (K.A. Konovalova, FMMR). Petrographic observation of a polished section shows that meteorite consist of coarse grain matrix with rare chondrules. The chondrules predominantlty nonporphyritic and a minor are fragments of porphyritic chondrules. Plagioclase grains up to 100-120 µm (petrological type 6). Metal and troilite are oxidized (weathearing grade W2).

Geochemistry: Mineral composition and Geochemistry: EDS analyses (A. Agakhanov, K. Konovalova, FMMR). Olivine 19.59±0.36 (N=24), Low-Ca pyroxene Fs17.5±0.8Wo1.45±0.27 (N=17), high-Ca pyroxene Fs12.2±0.7Wo46.46±0.81 (N=5), plagioclase Ab79.2An15.0Or5.8 (N=8). Composition of kamacite (in wt. %, n = 5): Fe - 93.99, Ni - 6.38, Co - 0.84, chromite Crt72.47Spl8.41 (N=2)

Classification: (Kseniya A. Konovalova, FMMR). Ordinary chondrite. H6, S1, W2.

Specimens: Atali Agakhanov holds main mass. 23.12 g and thin section - FMMR
