Northwest Africa 14284 (NWA 14284) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: March 2020 Classification: Iron meteorite (IAB-sLH) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Iron meteorite with fine octahedrite structure. Martensite bandwith 200±30 µm (n=9). Schreibersite to 30 µm. Geochemistry: (H. Pourkhorsandi and V. Debaille, ULB): Composition of the metal (ICP-MS) is Co=0.66±0.01, Ni=21.5±0.2 (both in wt% ±1 sigma), Cr=0.39±0.09, Cu=324±2, Ga=2.30±0.14, Ge=4.26±0.41, As=21.96±0.95, Mo=1.77±0.02, Pd=8.98±0.11, W=0.01±0.00, Ir=0.01±0.00, Au=1.38±0.14 (all in ppm ±1 sigma).
