Northwest Africa 14337 (NWA 14337)

Morocco

Find: 2015

Classification: HED achondrite (Howardite)

History: Discovered by Ait Kabboura Imad close to Taguerount in 2015, approximately 31°15’N, 4°30’W

Physical characteristics: nearly complete individual of 37.2 g with black, partly lustrous fusion crust

Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) Polymict breccia of basaltic eucrite, diogenite (orthopyroxene) and mineral fragments set into a more fine-grained clastic and related matrix (eucritic/diogenitic~0.5). Minor minerals include silica, ilmenite, chromite, troilite, kamacite, and taenite. Metal grains show weak rust halos.
