Find: 6 Jan 2006

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3)

History: During 2005/2006 field season, 5354 meteorite samples have been selected by CHINARE in Grove Mountains, East Antarctica.

Physical characteristics: This meteorite weighs 11.28 g, is subspherical.

Petrography: The sample has well-developed chondrules visible to the naked eye, ranging from about 3 to 0.1 mm in diameter, with about 65% vol, mainly including porphyritic chondrules, barred olivine chondrule and cryptocrystalline chondrules, as well as a few radial olivine chondrules, with annular bands of olivine and most of the mineral annular bands are magnesium-rich in the core. No impact veins are seen.

Geochemistry: Olivine Fa24.58±13.86, range Fa6.35-29.78. Pyroxene Fs17.71±7.28, range Fs8.12-39.3.

Specimens: The main mass and one thin section are on deposited at PRIC.
