Northwest Africa 14475 (NWA 14475)

Purchased: 2021 Sept

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3)

History: The meteorite was purchased from a group of meteorites hunters in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, in September, 2021.

Physical characteristics: Dark brownish fragment without fusion crust.

Petrography: Ordinary chondrite displaying a brownish interior with small, clearly defined, mostly flattened packed chondrules (apparent mean diameter about 300 µm). FeNi metal and sulfides and are abundant and partly altered to Fe-hydroxides.
