Northwest Africa 14476 (NWA 14476)

Purchased: 2021 Sept

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3)

History: The meteorite was purchased from a group of meteorites hunters in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, in September, 2021.

Physical characteristics: Dark brownish fragment without fusion crust.

Petrography: The meteorite shows a chondritic texture with well-defined partly flattened separated chondrules (apparent mean diameter about 350 µm) in a fine-grained matrix that contains abundant FeNi metal and sulfides partly altered to Fe-hydroxides.
