Dunlike 010 39°58’56.98"N, 89°9’46.10"E Xinjiang, China Find: 2019 Sept 19 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L6) History: (Ziyao Wang) Discovered by Xuefeng Yang in the Lop Nur desert on Sept. 19, 2019 Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) Five brown-yellow stones with very rusty surface, totaling 8757 g. The largest piece weighs 3777 g. Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) Dark-gray recrystallized matrix with chondrules (0.4-3, av. 0.8 mm, mainly PO and RP), many rimmed by sulfide and metal aggregates; the metal is heavy oxidized. Vugs and cracks are partly filled with Fe-oxihydrate and sulfate. Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine Fa25.0±0.9 (n=14); pyroxene Fs21.2±0.4Wo1.3±0.2 (n=7); feldspar An11±2Or7±3 (n=4); chromite CRAL 85, FFM 88 (n=4). Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.26 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L6, S4, W2) Specimens: 21.5 g on deposit at MNB, main mass with Xuefeng Yang and Lixin Yang, and 167 g and polished thin section with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
