Northwest Africa 14282 (NWA 14282) Morocco Purchased: 2016 Classification: Ureilite History: The meteorite was found by an anonymous finder in northwest Africa and bought by the main mass holder in Chenzhou, China Petrography: This meteorite has granular texture and is mainly comprised of olivine, clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene with minor graphitic carbon. The grain sizes of the olivine and pyroxene range from 0.3 to 1.5 mm. Silicate grains are subhedral to anhedral, and the triple junctions of the grain boundaries could be observed in this meteorite. Reverse zoning is absent in silicate. Fe-oxides occurred along grain boundaries.
