Los Vientos 461 (LoV 461) 24°48’55"S, 69°55’12"W Antofagasta, Chile Find: 2017 Apr 13 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L6) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Highly recrystallized chondrite with relict chondrules. Maskelynite to 150 μm, some with lobate contacts with pyroxene and olivine. Abundant shock veins and melt pockets. Metal and troilite to 400 μm. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa25.5 (n=2). Orthopyroxene Fs21.5±0.3Wo1.6±0.3 (n=6). Plagioclase An17.0Ab73.2Or9.8 (n=1). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L6) Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass at Museum d’Histoire Naturelle de Nantes. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
