Calama 218 22°23.31’S, 68°38.29’W Antofagasta, Chile Find: 28 Mar 2021 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3) Petrography: The meteorite is a monomict breccia composes of well-defined chondrules up to 2 mm in diameter, chondrule fragments and mineral grains settled in more fine grained clastic matrix formed by the same material. The chondrule mesostasis is glassy and partially devitrified; olivine has irregular fractures and weak undulatory extinction. Geochemistry: Mineral compositions and geochemistry: Olivine Fa24.4±5.3 (N=28); PMD Fa=11.2%; pyroxene Fs13.8Wo1.1±0.6, range Fs1.6-27.3 (N=22). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
