Northwest Africa 14654 (NWA 14654) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: November, 2021 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3) History: The meteorite was purchased from a group of meteorites hunters in Nouadhibou, Mauritania in November, 2021. Physical characteristics: Brownish rock without fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite shows a chondritic texture with sharply defined, mostly rounded and densely packed chondrules (mean diameter about 0.75 mm) in a fine-grained dark brownish matrix that contains sulfides and abundant Fe-hydroxide alteration products. Only one small FeNi metal detected in the section studied. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
