Saw cut reveals white feldspathic clasts (1.8-1.3 cm), dark-gray clasts set in a light-gray groundmass. Petrography: Petrology (H.Chen, L. Xie, Z.Xia, GUT): The meteorite is a feldspathic breccia, composed of numerous glassy and mineral clasts. It has large-area of shock melt. The matrix is dominated by glass with many vesicles. The chemical composition of the glass is similar with that of anorthite. The mineral grains are dominated by olivine and pyroxene (<1 ?m). Accessory phases include chromite and ilmenite. Geochemistry (L. Xie and H. Chen, GUT): Plagioclase: An96.2-98.2Or0.02-0.17 (n=19); Olivine: Fo60.3-80.9, Fe/Mn=72-92 (n=12); Spinel: Al/(Cr+Al)=0.92-0.93, Mg/(Mg+Fe)=0.56-0.59 (n=12). Classification: Lunar: feldspathic breccia Specimens: A polished thin section and about 20 g sample are on deposit at GUT. The owner Ziyao Wang holds the main mass. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
