Northwest Africa 14827 (NWA 14827) Morocco Find: 2017 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3) Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Chondrite with large chondrules set in a relatively rare fine-grained iron-rich matrix. Chondrule matrix is devitrified. Olivine is zoned. Opaque minerals are metal and troilite, found as rounded grains and as rims around chondrules. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa25.0±13.5, range Fa6.0-42.0, Fa PMD 50%, Cr2O3 0.04±0.04 wt% (n=7). Low-Ca pyroxene 11.3±5.1Wo0.7±0.4, range Fs3.3-16.2 (n=5). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3). LL group based on magnetic susceptibility. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE.
