Lahmada 049 27º24.05’N, 9º02.9167’W Saguia el Hamra, Western Sahara Purchased: 2020 Classification: Pallasite History: Many small pieces (less than 10 g) were found 1.2km S of Al Mahbas in Western Sahara. Adrián Contreras Gómez (CRATER meteorites) purchased the samples from Hmad Ait Hssain in October 2020. Physical characteristics: Sample is composed of numerous cm-sized samples that are olivine crystals surrounded by oxidized material. Petrography: Description and classification (A. Love, App) Sample is composed of a single olivine crystal surrounded by oxidized Fe metal. Additional mineral are: troilite and chromite. Geochemistry: (A. Love, App) Olivine (Fa13.1±0.0, Fe/Ni=38.5±1.6, n=6). Classification: Pallasite. Possibly paired to La'Gad 002 Specimens: Adrián Contreras Gómez (CRATER Meteorites) holds the main masses. 16 individuals with a combined weight of 24.12 g and a polished mount are on deposit at App. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
