Writeup from MB 111:

Calama 210        22°24.61’S, 68°36.92’W

Antofagasta, Chile

Find: 27 Mar 2021

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H5)

Petrography: The meteorite is a brecciated chondrite with chondrules, chondrule fragments and mineral clasts set in a fine-grained clastic matrix. Minor unequilibrated clasts occur among the dominant equilibrated material. These clasts are 100-300 µm in size and represent fragments of PO and POP chondrules not containing metal or troilite.

Geochemistry: Mineral compositions and geochemistry: Olivine: host lithology Fa18.1±0.5 (N=22); unequilibrated clasts Fa25.9±12.5 (N=32), PMD Fa = 35.9%; Pyroxene: host lithology Fs16.1±0.6Wo1.4±0.8 (N=16); clasts Fs9.4±7.2Wo0.8±0.7 (N=12).

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H5, polymict). The meteorite contains LL3 clasts.
