Northwest Africa 15126 (NWA 15126) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Jun Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: Purchased by John Divelbiss in June 2019 from a dealer in Australia, who had obtained the material from a Moroccan source. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Relatively small, well-formed equilibrated chondrules containing devitirified glass are set in a relatively coarse grained matrix containing altered kamacite, chromite, troilite and merrillite, but no plagioclase. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa17.0±0.4, range Fa16.5-17.6, N = 14), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs15.4±0.5Wo0.9±0.6, range Fs15.1-15.9Wo0.3-2.3, N = 10). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4). Specimens: 21.8 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with Mr. J. Divelbiss. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
