Northwest Africa 15144 (NWA 15144) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2022 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4) History: The meteorite was purchased from a group of meteorites hunters in Nouadhibou, Mauritania, in April, 2022. Physical characteristics: Dark brownish fragment with some fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite shows a chondritic texture with well defined, partly flattened and partly packed chondrules (apparent mean diameter about 0.7 mm) set in a light brownish matrix with partly altered metal and sulfides. The meteorite contains shock melt veins. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
