Northwest Africa 15125 (NWA 15125) Mali Purchased: 2022 Feb Classification: Primitive achondrite (Winonaite) History: Found in Mali and purchased by Mbark Arjdal in February 2022 from a Malian dealer. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Protogranular aggregate of forsterite, enstatite, diopside, sodic plagioclase and kamacite, together with accessory chromite and merrillite. Geochemistry: Forsterite (Fa8.2-8.4, FeO/MnO = 17, N = 3), enstatite (Fs9.1-9.3Wo1.0-1.9, FeO/MnO = 10-11, N = 4), diopside (Fs4.2-4.8Wo42.9-43.9, FeO/MnO = 7-8, N = 4), plagioclase (Ab82.5An13.3Or4.2). Classification: Winonaite. Specimens: 22 g including a polished endcut at UWB; remainder with Mr. M. Arjdal. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
