Northwest Africa 15273 (NWA 15273) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2022 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3) History: The meteorite was purchased by Mr. Salamu Ali from a group of meteorites hunters in Nouadhibou, Mauritania and subsequently donated to the Museum fuer Naturkunde Berlin (MNB). Physical characteristics: Brownish rock partly covered with fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite shows a chondritic texture with sharply defined, partly flattened, and well packed chondrules (apparent mean diameter about 0.7 mm). The fine-grained matrix contains only weakly altered sulfides and FeNi metal. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
