Northwest Africa 15284 (NWA 15284)

(Northwest Africa)

Purchased: 2021

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4)

History: Found in 2021 by Yunes Chaoui, later purchased by Chris Monk on 8-1-2021.

Physical characteristics: One stone with dark-brown fusion crust.

Petrography: (D. Sheikh, Cascadia) Sample is an ordinary chondrite containing chondrules (Av. 500±50 _m) and accessory Fe-Ni metal and troilite.

Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa18.9±0.4, range Fa18.2-19.8, n=34), Low-Ca Pyroxene (Fs16.7±0.5Wo1.2±0.5, range Fs16.1-18.4Wo0.8-3.0, n=21).

Classification: Ordinary Chondrite (H4).

Specimens: 23.3 g at Cascadia, main mass with Chris Monk.
