Writeup from MB 111:

Amtoudi        29°13’58"N, 9°08’46"W

South, Morocco

Find: 2020

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3.15)

Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Weathered chondrite with well-delineated packed chondrules with apparent diameter 720±350 μm (n=20). The rare remaining original opaque minerals are metal and troilite. Chondrule mesostasis is devitrified. Olivine is zoned.

Geochemistry: Olivine Fa14.7±8.4, range Fa0.5-30.3, Fa PMD 97% (n=40). Low-Ca pyroxene Fs11.4±8.5Wo1.0±0.6, range Fs1.9-22.0. Cr2O3 in ferroan olivine 0.20±0.12 (n=34).

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3.15). LL group based on chondrule size and magnetic susceptibility. Subtype based on the Cr2O3 content of ferroan olivine that is similar to Yamato 791558 (Grossman and Brearley, 2005).

Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Jérémy Bassemon
