Northwest Africa 15357 (NWA 15357) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2022 May Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: Purchased by Terry Boudreaux in May 2022 from a dealer in Zagora, Morocco. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Well-formed equilibrated chondrules containing devitrified glass are set in a relatively coarse grained matrix containing kamacite (mostly fresh but some slightly stained), taenite, troilite, chromite, augite and merrillite, but no plagioclase. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa18.9±0.3, range Fa18.5-19.4, N = 6), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs16.6±0.2Wo1.3±0.4, range Fs16.4-17.0Wo1.0-2.2, N = 8), augite (Fs5.9Wo45.3). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4). Specimens: 23.8 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with Boudreaux. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
