Northwest Africa 15532 (NWA 15532) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2021 Sep Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4) History: Purchased by Darryl Pitt in September 2021 from a Moroccan dealer at the Denver Mineral Show. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and J. Boesenberg, BrownU) Relatively small, well-formed equilibrated chondrules containing devitrified glass are set in a relatively coarse grained matrix containing altered kamacite, troilite, chromite, merrillite and chlorapatite, but no plagioclase. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa19.1±0.5, range Fa18.6-19.3, N = 6), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs16.9±1.0Wo1.4±1.6, range Fs16.0-17.3Wo0.3-4.9, N = 7). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H4). Specimens: 47.6 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with DPitt. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
