Northwest Africa 15469 (NWA 15469) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2022 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL7) History: The meteorite was purchased from a meteorite dealer in Morocco. Physical characteristics: Two dark grayish fragments with some fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite displays a microporphyritic texture of predominantly 30-100 µm sized often euhedral olivine, weakly zoned low-Ca pyroxene with calcic margins, and augite grains together with interstitial albitic feldspar. Occasionally, pyroxene poikilitically encloses round olivine grains. Opaque phases are mostly altered sulfides and rare FeNi metal. No relict chondrules detected. Geochemistry: olivine: Fa28.7±0.1 (Fa28.6-28.8, n=10); zoned low-Ca pyroxene: Fs22.3±0.5Wo4.0±2.1 (Fs21.6-23.8Wo2.0-7.1, n=17); Ca-pyroxene: Fs14.2±0.8Wo34.9±2.0 (Fs13.4-15.3Wo31.7-37.1, n=5); feldspar: An10.1±1.0Ab85.7±0.6Or4.2±0.8, n=5 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
