Northwest Africa 15745 (NWA 15745) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2022 Apr Classification: Ureilite History: Bought by Jason Whitcomb in April 2022 from a Moroccan dealer Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Rock with granular texture and typical grain size 600 µm. Metal is present as µm-sized aligned inclusions in silicates, and along silicate grain rims where it is mostly replaced by weathering products. Carbon material is found close to silicate grain rims. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa15.7, CaO 0.30 wt%, Cr2O3 0.72 wt% (n=2). Olivine reduced rims Fa6.6, CaO 0.29 wt%, Cr2O3 0.84 wt% (n=2). Pyroxene Fs14.2Wo4.2, Al2O3 0.71 wt%, Cr2O3 1,18 wt%, TiO2 0.08 wt% (n=2). Classification: Ureilite Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Jason Whitcomb. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
