Antofagasta, Chile

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H3)

Petrography: The meteorite has chondritic structure and is composed of distinct chondrules (D=286±227 µm, N=100), chondrule fragments and mineral grains cemented by fine-grained clastic matrix impregnated by Fe,Ni hydroxide. Chondrules are of PO, POP, RP, GO, rare BO and CC types. Chondrule mesostasis is isotropic glass. Metal Fe,Ni abundance is 4.8 vol.%. Olivine has weak undulatory extinction and irregular fractures.
