Kumtag 066 41.19105378°N, 93.87615009°E Xinjiang, China Find: 2023 Feb 16 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~4) History: (Ziyao Wang) Discovered by a meteorite Hunter Team: Yihang Huang, Xuefeng Yang, Yu Long, Lixin Yang, Abulaiti, Jiandong Xing and Ma Wang in the Xinjiang desert in 16 Feb 2023. Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) Many black-brown stones without fusion crust. The largest individual is 3099 grams, in total 21.92 kg Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) gray-brown matrix with well defined close packed chondrules (0.3-3 mm, partly rimmed by metal and sulfide), few metal and sulfide, and some melt pockets.. Geochemistry: Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.73 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~4, W3) Specimens: 22.3 g on deposit at IfP, main mass with Yihang Huang and Xuefeng Yang, 97 g with Bart | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
