Northwest Africa 15932 (NWA 15932) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: March 2020 Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite, brecciated) History: Purchased by Jasper Spencer from a meteorite dealer in Morroco in March 2020. Physical characteristics: Single stone with weathered fusion crust. Petrography: (D. Sheikh, Cascadia) Sample is comprised of sub-angular, mm-sized basaltic clasts set within a fine-grained matrix containing accessory SiO2-rich glass, troilite, Ti-bearing chromite, and ilmenite. Geochemistry: Low-Ca Pyroxene (Fs60.9±0.9Wo2.5±0.7, range Fs58.7-62.2Wo1.8-4.6, Fe/Mn=31±4, n=29), Pigeonite (Fs48.6±2.0Wo17.6±1.8, range Fs46.9-50.8Wo15.6-19.0, Fe/Mn=29±5, n=3), Sub-calcic Augite (Fs32.8±2.2Wo36.0±2.5, range Fs30.3-35.6Wo32.8-38.9, Fe/Mn=29±3, n=4), High-Ca Pyroxene (Fs26.8±0.6Wo42.5±0.9, range Fs25.5-28.0Wo40.4-43.4, Fe/Mn=30±3, n=10), Calcic Plagioclase (An88.5±2.1, range An81.1-90.6, n=28).
