Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite, brecciated)

Petrography (K. Metzler, IfP): Fine-grained polymict achondritic breccia, consisting of eucritic lithic clasts (subophitic, gabbroic, granulitic) and mineral fragments (pyroxene, plagioclase). These are set in a fine-grained clastic matrix of related debris. Most pyroxenes exhibit augite exsolution lamellae. Several eucrite clasts contain veins and patches of iron-rich olivine with sizes up to several hundred µm; olivine grains with a similar chemical composition occur as isolated fragments in the clastic matrix. Accessories are silica polymorph, Cr-spinel, and troilite. The sample contains altered troilite grains and finely dispersed barite, indicating a high degree of weathering.

Geochemistry: Mineral compositions and geochemistry: Low-Ca pyroxene (host): Fs58.6±1.7Wo1.9±0.3 (Fs56.8-61.9Wo1.5-2.3); mean Fe/Mn (at.): 33.2; n=12. Ca-rich pyroxene (exsolution lamellae) Fs24.1±0.7Wo43.8±0.5 (Fs23.6-26.1 Wo43.0-44.7); mean Fe/Mn (at.): 29.3; n=10. Plagioclase An86.9±2.4Or0.2±0.2 (An82.4-89.8Or0.0-0.5); n=11. Isolated olivine grains and olivine in veins: Fa89.2±1.2 (Fa87.0-90.6); mean Fe/Mn (at.): 37.0; n=11.

Classification: Brecciated eucrite, based on texture and mineral chemistry.
