Purchased: 2010 Dec

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3)

History: Purchased in December 2010 from a dealer in Marrakech, Morocco.

Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Well-formed, relatively large chondrules (apparent diameter mostly 1.3 ± 1.0 mm, one 4.1 mm) are set in a finer grained, unrecrystallized fragmental matrix containing sparse stained metal.

Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa1.1-57.6, Cr2O3 in ferroan olivine 0.02-0.41 wt.%, mean 0.14 wt.%, sd 0.13 wt.%, N = 16), orthopyroxene (Fs2.2-21.9Wo0.2-3.3, N = 3), subcalcic augite (Fs8.2-18.4Wo31.3-28.0, N = 2), augite (Fs10.5Wo42.3). log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.15.

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3). The wide range in Fa content of olivine coupled with the range in Cr contents of ferroan olivine imply a very low subtype near 3.2.

Specimens: 21.8 g at UWB; remainder with Mr. B. Booz.
