Purchased: 2005

Classification: Mesosiderite

History: The meteorite was purchased in 2005 from a local meteorite dealer in Zagora, Morocco.

Physical characteristics: Fourteen dark-brownish fragments without fusion crust.

Petrography: The meteorite is a breccia composed of silicate and metallic regions of highly variable portions. The metallic lithology consists of kamacite and taenite, the silica fraction is dominated by up to 2 µm sized low-Ca pyroxene, less abundant olivine, calcic plagioclase and minor silica and merrillite. Pyroxene often shows compositional zoning.

Geochemistry: olivine: Fa_9.2±0.7(Fa_8.2-10.6, n=20, FeO/MnO=32-47); low-Ca pyroxene: Fs_34.6±3.9Wo_7.0±2.0(Fs_30.0-40.6Wo_4.9-10.8, n=15, FeO/MnO=20-25); calcic plagioclase: An_93.5±0.3(An_93.0-94.0, n=15)
