Macroscopic Description: Carol Schwarz

Thin fusion crust covers 70% of this specimen. Areas devoid of fusion crust are mostly weathered and have a rough texture. Fresher areas are gray in color with some darker gray clasts, white clasts, and metal. The interior is medium gray and has several darker gray clasts. Chipping exposed a metal-rich area of several mm .


Thin Section (,4) Description: Brian Mason

The section has a brecciated appearance, with angular areas up to 5 mm across differing in color from pale gray to dark brown; however, the grain size is fairly uniform throughout. The meteorite appears to consist largely of fine-grained olivine (grain size 0.01-0.1 mm) with a small amount (2-3%) of nickel-iron and sulfide. Chondritic structure is barely perceptible. Microprobe analyses gave the following compositions: olivine, Fa30; pyroxene, Fs22; plagioclase, An10. The meteorite is tentatively classified as a C4 chondrite.
