Northwest Africa 13894 (NWA 13894) Morocco Purchased: 2020 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L5, melt breccia) History: (Ziyao Wang) Purchased by Ziyao Wang from Fayssal Mezgouri in Agadir, Morocco, Nov 2020. Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) Gray-black oval stones of 890 g, with some fusion crust Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) rounded lithic clasts composed of well outlined chondrules, chondrule and mineral fragments set in a black melt. Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine Fa23.1-24-5 (n=11); low-Ca pyroxene Fs19.4-23.2Wo1.0-3.2 (n=8); Ca-pyroxene En59-14Fs12-7Wo20-29 (n=2); kamacite Co 0.8 wt% (n=1). Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 5.36. Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L5 melt breccia) Specimens: 20.3 g on deposit at Kiel, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 89 g with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
