Purchased: 2018 Nov

Classification: Primitive achondrite (Acapulcoite)

Physical characteristics: Cut surface reveals a greenish and metal-rich interior.

Petrography: Strongly recrystallized texture with orthopyroxene (typical size 400 µm), Ca-pyroxene, plagioclase (typical size 200 µm) displaying triple junctions. Opaques are FeNi metal and troilite. No chondrule remnant was observed. Modal abundances (by point counting): plagioclase (14 vol%), pyroxene (66 vol%), FeNi metal (12 vol%), troilite (6 vol%).

Geochemistry: Orthopyroxene Fs_11.2±0.2Wo_2.1±0.3, FeO/MnO=13.5±2.1 (n=4), augite Fs_4.7Wo_45.0(n=2), plagioclase An_16.6Ab_79.0Or_4.4(n=2).

Classification: Primitive achondrite (acapulcoite).
